Arizona Bus Club

The ABC is an Arizona-based, family-oriented club, dedicated to the restoration, preservation, and enjoyment of the Volkswagen Transporter. We are a collection of drivers and hobbyists whose preferred mode of transportation is old  VWs, preferably buses. If that sounds like the kind of crowd you'd like to hang out with, come to our monthly general meeting or look us up at a show. The club is open to all Type II owners and all VW enthusiasts.

Every year the ABC raffles off a VW bus at our big event, the "Jerome Jamboree" in Jerome, AZ usually (but not always) the third weekend in September.

Raffle tickets are sold only at the event and YOU MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN!

Thanks and enjoy your Bus!

SALT RIVER FATHERS DAY FLOAT TRIP June 18, 2017  7:30am  Mesa, AZ
Last year we had so much fun floating the Salt River we are going to do it AGAIN this year! We will meet about 7:30am at Phon D. Sutton recreation area just a couple miles north of Red Mountain 202 on Power Rd. Bring your own floating device; canoe, kayak, raft, tube, noodles, etc. We will shuttle floaters and crafts up to the put in and float back down to Phon D. Sutton where we will relax and have a nice BBQ or maybe an east side restaurant before heading home for the evening. This is a one day event, no camping. You need to purchase a "Tonto Pass" that's $8 from any nearby gas station or grocery store for your vehicle. Any make or model vehicle is welcome...you may enjoy having A/C in your modern car on your way home...although we do encourage you to bring your VW.
Mark your calendars!

MT PINAL CAMPOUT  June 23-25, 2017 Near Globe, AZ.
DUE TO THE MT PINAL FIRE, THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED! Stay tuned for an alternate event for this date...
Join your bus camping friends for a scenic weekend spring trip that is 17 miles up an easy gravel road to the top of Mt. Pinal near Globe, AZ (only 80-miles from Phoenix) Directions: Head east on Hwy-60 and just before Globe, AZ you will see a stoplight where Hwy-88 heads north...this is where you head south on Russell Rd. Pay attention to the street signs as Russell Rd. zigs and zags through town before it turns into a gravel road. The gravel road is not well marked...just stay on the most beaten path and as long as you are still going "up" you are on the right road and you wont miss our camp at the very top. You'll be rewarded with one of the most stunning views you can see from a bus. Lots of hiking and mountain biking opportunities. When feeling lonely the forest service lookout will invite you to join him in the tower that's 7600 feet above sea level. The weather changes without warning so camp under the trees and expect 85-35 degree temps, fog, hail, ferocious winds, insect swarms, rain and thunder that will crack your ear drums. In other words perfect for camping in a bus. Oh, and a few of the rabble bring along fire arms which they expend at a range at the bottom of Mt. Pinal. There will be a ridiculous Saturday evening pot luck so bring your favorite dish.
